About the event
The exhibition "Interstellar Languages," by artist Juan Ávila Aceves, who called himself Kraeppellin and later Adrrii Kraeppellin, is the event with which Estudio Parque Juan Diego reopens its doors on January 28. It is a celebration of the collaboration between the artist and his patron, José Aguilar Valencia.
In 1969, a meeting at a painting market in the plaza of the Modern Art Center of Guadalajara marked the beginning of a relationship that, for more than four decades, accumulated an impressive collection. José Aguilar helped sustain the artist's work and creative process through close accompaniment and continuous support.
The exhibition presents a selection of the collector's favorite pieces, unfolding like a conversation sustained over time, where Kraeppellin's work responds to attentive, critical, and constant listening. Each piece records the intellectual and emotional exchange that shaped their friendship: a dialogue that fostered risk-taking, persistence, and the expansion of his artistic language.
